Sports day went ahead on Tuesday the 25th of June and even though the sun didn't really shine it was warm and we had great fun. As usual the sixth class girls organised the teams so that we were in a a team with children from junior infants to 6th class working together to get points for our team. We had the ladybirds, goldfish, ducks, pandas, elephants, cats, rabbits, parrots and frogs.
Everyone took part in the day - we had races in the morning and then fun and team building games in the afternoon. All the children in the Lighthouse took part in races and fun obstacles courses as well.
There were also plenty of medals given out for all the races, long jumps, shot puts, high jumps, sprints and relays. And jellies for everyone who participated. There were many parents who managed to come and cheer their children on and to give encouragement to their friends. They even took part in some fun races themselves. It was a day filled with fun - thanks to 6th class and the teachers who organised such a good day. Bhí lá álainn againn!!
Seo iad na Buaiteoirí!! The winners in the end were the Frogs and they were delighted to get their goodie bags.
