World Book Day 2019

A chairde dhílis,

As World Book Day is this week we are celebrating it on FRIDAY, 6th March. The children are being asked to bring in their favourite book to share with the class. They may also dress up as an interesting character from a book. Often with the younger children it is a character who also appears on their screens.

However, with the older children we ask them to put more thought into it and choose a character from a novel they have read in the last year. They should be able to discuss a little about the character and why they have chosen them. This really embraces the New Oral Language curriculum and we encourage the children to put the same effort into their choice as they would another class project.

If children do not like dressing up they are welcome to write a piece about or draw a picture of their favourite character, to discuss in class.

We are not encouraging people to spend money on costumes - it is about using your imagination and having a bit of fun! Time to get Creative!!! Happy Reading!
