Last March before 'Lockdown' the Parents' Association ran a 'Digital Detox' competition. This involved the children getting sponsored to go without their devices for a whole 24hrs!
This fundraising event was very successful, raising over €1,600 and that was even at it being cut short.
The children also entered pictures, poems and little stories about what they did when they were not on their devices.
Míle Buíochas to Mary Kingston, local celebrity and children's TV presenter who judged the competition for the PA.
The winners were as follows:
Sen. Infants - Chloe Belie Murphy
Lighthouse - Oscar Clifford Darby
1st Class - Hollie Nolan
2nd Class - Aoife O'Dwyer
3rd Class - Shayla Murphy
4th Class - Maya Hughes
5th Class - Rose Newbanks and Lucy Bradbury
6th Class - Cara Evans
Mary Kingston commented that the level of work, especially the now 6th Class, made her job very difficult and that the work was very inspiring. All the entries can be seen in the local shop windows in October.
Maith sibh gach duine agus Comhghairdeas to the winners who each received a €10 Bel gelato voucher.
